We are pleased to announce a unique collaboration between Viscaria, LTH Traktor AB, and Skoogs Bränsle AB—a partnership that not only helps us build the copper projects of the future but does so in a way that prioritises the environment.
Viscaria has taken a bold and groundbreaking stance by implementing HVO 100 as our fuel, making us the first company in the mining industry in Sweden to prioritise this sustainable fuel in our operations. By committing to a sustainable future, we not only demonstrate our dedication to the environment but also live up to our values of being brave and innovative in all aspects of our business. It’s about daring to think differently, leading by example, and inspiring others in the industry to follow suit.
Thanks to Skoogs Bränsle, who provides our new refuelling station, and LTH Traktor, who utilises it in their work on the development of our project area, we can minimise our environmental impact right from the start.
“Viscaria’s decision to implement HVO 100 as fuel is an impressive and visionary step towards a sustainable future in the mining industry. It showcases their leadership and commitment to the environment, and we at Skoogs Bränsle are proud to be part of this important journey towards setting new sustainability standards in our industry,” says Thomas Andersson, CEO of Skoogs Bränsle AB.
HVO 100 enables us to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 90%, which aligns perfectly with Viscaria’s long-term goals. Our ambition is for our carbon footprint to be among the lowest 5% globally, and through this partnership, we are making significant strides in that direction.
With an expected annual growth of 4% in copper demand and a sustainably produced copper market projected to reach up to 30% of the global market by 2030, it is crucial that we focus on sustainability right now, during the construction phase. Through our collaboration with LTH Traktor and Skoogs Bränsle, we are laying the groundwork for a copper project that not only meets market needs but also paves the way for a more sustainable industry.
Thank you to our partners for their commitment and for working with us to advance the sustainable mining of the future.
